"Rey Mysterio" translates to "King of Mystery" in Spanish.
He has numerous tattoos, including his children's names, various designs, his masks, and the word "Mexican" on his stomach. He also has a large spine tatooed back bone on his back.
He currently wears the "EG" Armband in every match to pay tribute to his friend Eddie Guerrero. He has also recently begun to wear his pants into the ring with "Latino" drawn on the rear, just like Eddie always had done.
His version of the Tiger feint kick, called the "619," gets its name from San Diego's area code, his hometown.
For almost all WWE appearances, he keeps his face covered by his mask. These mask colors vary. He also wears contact lenses to match the color of his clothes. For non-wrestling appearances he generally wears a black mask, but sometimes has has been seen with highly custom masks such as one made by Louis Vuitton.
He has been unmasked twice while in the WWE. The most recent was during his testimonial video on the Eddie Guerrero RAW tribute show. He also did this on an episode of Tough Enough , though the camera was behind him.
He graduated from high school with P.O.D. members Paul "Sonny" Sandoval and Noah "Wuv" Bernardo. P.O.D. played a version of his entrance theme Booyaka 619 at WrestleMania 22.
He holds the record for the longest time in a Royal Rumble match with 62:15, beating Chris Benoit's 2004 record.
In the video game Smackdown vs Raw 2006, Rey is said to be 5 foot 6, but in reality he is 3 inches shorter.
On the May 2nd, 2006 edition of SmackDown! Rey entered to "Booyaka 619" preformed by P.O.D, on the next edition of SmackDown! the opening "Whatcha gone do when we come for you" line was present and the P.O.D theme followed.
He is the first person to win the WWE/World HeavyWeight Championship without pinning, or making the champion submit at WrestleMania. He pinned Randy Orton, the non-champion to win the World HeavyWeight Championship at WrestleMania 22.
Through out the first pitch during a Cincinnatti Reds game in early 2006.
